¡¡¡¡China Continent Property & Casualty Insurance Company Ltd. is derived from the original People's Insurance Company of China (PICC), founded in October 1949 with over 50-year history. During the course of the system reform of the original People's Insurance Company of China in July 1996, former PICC was sub-divided into the People's Insurance (Group) Company of China, PICC Property Insurance Company Ltd., PICC Life Insurance Company Ltd., and PICC Reinsurance Company Ltd. In 1998, with the approval of the State Council, People's Insurance (Group) Company of China was withdrawn and the three professional subsidiaries became independent enterprises directly under the State Council, PICC Reinsurance Company Ltd. in March 1999, changed its name into China Reinsurance Company. With the agreement of the State Council and the approval of CIRC, in August 2003,China Reinsurance Company, was renamed as China Reinsurance (Group) Company, which, as one of the investors and the main sponsor, initiated and founded China Continent Property & Casualty Insurance Company Ltd.

¡¡¡¡With registered capital of one billion Yuan RMB, the Company is jointly founded by 10 domestic and overseas investors including China Reinsurance (Group) Company, with its headquarter based in Shanghai. With its operation concept of ¡°Take honesty as priority, operate stably, be value-oriented and service the society¡±, and with the capital of its Chinese shareholder (China Reinsurance Group), the operation mechanism of private enterprise and international experience of its foreign shareholder, the Company has been innovative in operation concept, development mode and business scope. In just one year of operation the Company has completed a nation-wide layout of net-work. The company adheres to the business philosophy of ¡°Faithful service, steady operation, profit oriented and service society¡±, relying on the sufficient capital of state-owned shareholder (China Re), business mechanism of private company and international experience of foreign shareholder, to develop business with innovation in the fields of business philosophy, development model, operation method and business scope, and initially completed the strategic branch distribution all around the country within one year. And now, the company has set up 21 branches located in Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Ningbo, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Xian, Wuhan, Fuzhou, Qingdao, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, Jinan, Shenyang, Harbin, Dalian, Chongqing, Kunming and Nanchang respectively; trying to develop business in Shijiazhuang.
